About

Built by a small business owner, for small business owners.

WedgeBid is a procurement services brand operated by Advertflair LLC, a New York limited liability company. We are MBE-certified through the NYC Department of Small Business Services. The system we help you navigate is the same system we live in every day.

Founder

Hari Gurusamy

Hari runs WedgeBid from Brooklyn. He holds an aerospace engineering degree, a mathematics degree, and an MBA. He has built and operated businesses across two continents and ten years of NYC procurement experience. The MBE certificate on his desk renews in 2028, same as yours will.

He started WedgeBid after watching too many capable small businesses lose contracts they should have won because the paperwork beat them. Not the work. The paperwork. WedgeBid closes that gap.

The story

Why this exists

For ten years, Advertflair operated as a creative services firm serving enterprise clients. Along the way, we navigated the same procurement system that every small business in NYC has to navigate: certifications, registrations, capability statements, bid responses, grant applications. We built the muscle. We learned where the bodies are buried.

What became obvious, year after year, is that most small businesses never build that muscle. Not because they can't — because the system is opaque, the consultants are expensive, and the time required to learn it sits exactly nowhere on the calendar of a person running a 12-person business. So they qualify for things they never apply for. They are eligible for budgets that will never reach them.

The City of New York spends seventeen billion dollars a year buying goods and services. Most of it goes to firms you have never heard of. We help small businesses become firms the City buys from.

How we are different

We are not a law firm. We are not a placement agency. We are not affiliated with any government agency. We are a procurement and grant application services firm — built around the specific work that small businesses need done in order to access public capital.

What is genuinely different is the cost structure. Most consultants in this market charge $5,000 to $25,000 for filings that we deliver for $795 to $10,000. The work product is the same. The price is different because the production model is different — we combine AI-assisted drafting with experienced human review and signoff. We pass the savings to you because we want to serve more small businesses, not fewer.

What we believe

  • Government budgets should reach small businesses. Public dollars that flow to small firms generate more jobs per dollar, in more neighborhoods, with more durable community impact, than the same dollars routed through national primes.
  • Process is not the same as service. A firm that files your application is not the same as a firm that wins your contract. We are honest about which is which.
  • The boring parts matter most. Deadlines, document quality, format compliance, signature management — the unsexy operational discipline is what wins. We over-invest there.
  • Small business owners know their business. Our job is to translate that knowledge into a format the agency can evaluate. Not to teach you your own industry.

Who we work with

Small businesses across NYC and the United States. Most of our clients have between 2 and 50 employees. Most are owned by people who have been told for years that they should be winning city or federal contracts. Most have started the certification process at least once and stopped because the paperwork felt impossible.

We work with construction firms, IT services, professional services, facilities and security, creative and marketing, food service, healthcare-adjacent services, staffing, and product manufacturers. If your business serves customers, somewhere in the federal or city procurement system there is a budget that buys what you sell.
